Frequently asked questions

Why will my HEIC photo not open on Windows?
HEIC uses the HEVC codec, which Windows and most browsers do not decode without a paid extension. Converting to JPG fixes it everywhere.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Decoding uses libheif compiled to WebAssembly and runs entirely in your browser.
Is the quality kept?
HEIC is decoded to full resolution and re-encoded as JPG at the quality you choose (92 by default), or losslessly as PNG.
