Local tools

Tools marked "Runs on your device" process your files with JavaScript and WebAssembly inside your browser tab. Your files are never transmitted to Kiln or any third party. We cannot see them, and no copy exists outside your device unless you download the result.

Pro tools

Pro tools (AI humanizer, OCR, high-fidelity conversions) send your input over an encrypted connection to our servers, where it is processed in memory and forwarded to our AI provider under a zero-retention agreement. We do not store your text or files. We record the tool used, the time, and input/output word counts for billing and abuse prevention.

Accounts and payments

If you sign in, we store your email address and authentication data with Supabase. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. We store your Stripe customer id, plan status and credit balance.

Analytics and cookies

We do not use advertising trackers. Local tool pages set no cookies. Signed-in sessions use a first-party cookie for authentication only.
